  • Dues
$ 80.00 League players, $ 40.00 subs. Money is due on Week 1.  Please pay Eric Sifert.

  • Scorecards
Each team should keep their own card. At the end of your round, the following needs to be calculated for each player.
    • Score for each individual hole
    • Total Gross Score
    • Total Points Earned

The two cards should then be compared for accuracy.  If they don’t match, then find the discrepancy and fix it.  Once both teams agree then take a picture of the cleanest card and either text it to me at 978-697-1086 or email it to pt@imsx.com. Only one card from each match should be sent to me after.

An example of a clean card is below:

Example Scorecard

They played the front 9 and recorded the scores there and used the back 9 part of the card to tally the points.  You don't have to use this method but the card you turn in should be as easy to read as this one.

  • Closest to the Pin
$10 per flight each week during the regular season.  Must be on the green to measure.  The hole will alternate weekly on holes 6, 8 14 & 16.  If nobody hits the green for a given week then the money is doubled for the next time that hole is the Pin hole.  If you are closest in your flight please put your Name, Distance and which flight you’re playing in on the sheet.

  • Skins
$30 payout per flight each week.  $15 for Gross Skins and $15 for Net.
Low gross score on any hole.  Birdie or better for  A flight.  Par or better for B flight.  Same for low net score.  Net skins are played off of lowest handicap in the flight.
Skin money will be paid out at the end of the season.  YTD totals are updated on the web site at the same time as scores/points etc.
Anyone who drops out before the end of the season will forfeit skin and pin money.

  •  Who Plays Who
The two lowest handicaps for each team play against each other.  Handicaps can and will change throughout the season but the order that players are listed on the website will not, so the two lowest handicaps should always play each other.

If two players on the same team have the same handicap, then they get to decide who plays against the other team's lowest handicap. If both players on both teams have the same handicap, then figure it out for yourself ??.  Just be sure to do so prior to starting your round.

  • Handling absent golfers for a given week
It is inevitable that conflicts come up where people will not be able to make a given Wednesday.  In the past, we have been flexible on how to handle this.  However, for the sake of clarity, the options on handling absent golfers are as follows.

    • Two vs One
This is the most common and recommended method.  One golfer out of the 4 in the match is unable to play.  The remaining 3 golfers play 2 on 1.  The single golfer plays both opponents simultaneously and accumulates points against each opponent.

For example, Week 1 in the A’s has Thomann vs Tjampiris.  Pete and John can make it but Greg has a conflict so Dave plays 2 on 1 vs Pete and John.

Dave (11) plays Pete (12) and has to give him 1 stroke.
Dave (11) also plays John (14) and has to give him 3 strokes.

The scorecard should note who was missing and should have 3 Gross Scores and 4 Total Points earned that adds up to 36.

    • One vs One
One player from each team cannot make it.  The remaining two players play a 1 vs 1 and the absent golfers split and are given 9 points each.

    • Play on an alternate day
If neither of the above options work, then, as a last resort, you can play the match on an alternate day. If is played between the Thursday prior and the following Monday it is still eligible for Skins if I get a clean card by that Monday night.  Matches played outside of that window are not eligible for Skins.  Closest to the Pin is only awarded to players that played on Wednesday.

There is no longer the option to play the course and/or match cards. All matches must be made up. Depending on weather we’ll try and schedule a makeup week around the 4th of July and again at the end of the season. However, you are strongly encouraged to make up your matches whenever the four of you can agree to play.

    • Forfeits
Matches that are never made up will result in a double forfeit with each team getting 12 points.  League officers reserve the right to consider extenuating circumstances and grant exceptions.

  • Playoffs
    • Seedings
Based on total Team Points for the regular season
      • 1st and 2nd place seeds receive a 1st round bye.
      • 3rd and 4th seeds are automatically in the 1st round.
      • 5th and 6th seeds will be determined as a result of the Play-In tournament.

    • 1st Round

4 vs 5

    • 2nd Round (Final Four)

1 vs Lowest Seed remaining

2 vs Other Team remaining

    • Championship Round

2nd round winners play

Winner is champion

Loser is 2nd place

2nd round losers play

Winner is 3rd place

Loser is 4th place

  • Play
League play will start on May 1st. Practice rounds on Wednesdays prior, weather permitting. It is a 14 week season and you will play each team twice.
Official start time is 4:30.  If you play earlier than that the course has asked you not to start prior to 3:30. Scoring will be 2 points per player per hole won, a tie is 1 point each.

Both flights will play from the same nine, alternating weekly.

Men will play from the white tees, women from the red.

All lost balls, or balls in the woods are considered red stake.  Drop 2 club lengths from point of entry no closer to the hole and add a penalty stroke for the drop.

  • Subs
Any sub with a league handicap can play in either flight.  So, if they are listed in the sub section on the web site they are eligible to substitute.  Teams that are short a player are encouraged to contact the sub to see if they can play in their place.   Subs are also eligible for weekly Skins and Pins money for the flight that they subbed in.

  •  Prizes
Cash prizes will be awarded by flight for: Teams first, second, & third place.

  • Anything that comes up that is not covered above
In the event that something unusual comes up, the league officers will discuss and base their decision on whatever is in the best interest of the league.

  •  Modifications to Above
Any changes to these rules will be updated as soon as possible and posted to the website as necessary. (http://www.peterthomann.com/woods/Notes.asp).
